The Role
I really enjoyed my placement, it was the best year of my life.
I felt hugely valued by my colleagues as they made a huge effort to get to know me from day one and always made me feel as part of the team- I made friends for life on my placement.
I was given great support by my manager, he always encouraged me to utilise opportunities and pushed me to reach my maximum potential.
I was busy on most days- it varied throughout the year.
From my first month, I was given lots of responsibility and encouraged to work directly with customers.
I learnt so much on placement and grew and developed as a person beyond recognition.
The Company
Atmosphere was okay in the office, depended on which colleagues were in the office and which were working from home or on the road.
The placement was very well organized, especially considering the fact that I was the first ever placement student to be employed by the organization.
The company invested in me hugely- I received on-site training and attended external courses.

Prospects are good- I've been encouraged to apply for the graduate scheme at the Group Company by my manager.
The Culture
I got to know another placement student who was on the same course at my university.
I already lived in the area where my placement was and knew it well so costs were okay.
I didn't go out too much in the area I worked in as nightlife was more aimed at people older than myself.
There were a few opportunities such as being nominated to represent the company at an international security exhibition for a week in June.
