    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a week too long, and started to drag by the end. Some parts were excellent. Most were distinctly average.

    2/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • One person I shared on office with treated me with at best mild neglect, at worst irritation. The other person was much more open, but could be short-tempered.

    2/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • We were not even given a map of the building.

    2/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I veered between having nothing to do, occasioning many hours wasted on random websites, and between having a sudden influx of work. A balance would have been better.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Although often filing, I was sometimes given real responsibility - sometimes too much, sometimes things I was not qualified to do.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt many new things about how commercial law works.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Inconsistent. Some areas had a real lack of cohesiveness and even common decency. Others had developed a stronger culture. People were moving in and out so much, there was no sense of permanence.

    2/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    1/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
