The Role
An opportunity to experience every part of the business and meet lots of new people as well as senior business leaders.
Felt extremely welcomed by the general population of staff however some managers are a bit off... though it's the luck of the draw as many are fantastic and supportive.
It will vary depending on the manager you get for each area attachment. Many are great and will always look to help you develop your skills and business competencies.
Mostly busy however there were many times where the management team under estimated how complicated a task was and were left without further tasks once these were completed leaving you a bit stuck for jobs.
Great responsibility given from day one and are immediately one of the store management team!
The business competencies and skills I have developed will certainly help me back at University in terms or organisation and time management as well as a wide range of skills which will be transferable to any business and career in the future!
The Company
Brilliant people within M&S and are always there to have a joke and fun!
There was a basic structure in place however this wasn't always followed and could sometimes feel a bit unorganised, though everything was covered in the end.
Couldn't have done more! Frequent training courses, mulitple attachments to different areas and stores and even facilitated attachments which weren't on the specified placement structure.
Subsidised Canteen
Above 25 days holiday
If a job is available next year when I graduate then I will be in consideration - however the business isn't able to give a definite answer until then.
The Culture
We all became friends very quickly and regularly socialised outside of work.
Very reasonable and was plesently surprised to see how far my salary went.
Fantastic!
Not a social group out side of work - only one team event outside of work in the entire year!
