  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Really enjoyed this summer vacation placement. A really excellent insight into life in a commercial firm, social events were well organised and everyone was really welcoming

    • Treated like a proper member of the team, given proper work to do and made to feel comfortable

    • The trainee buddy system works really well, along with a very supportive and approachable department and a great graduate recruitment team

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • Not only did I become comfortable with legal documents/drafting but I learnt some things about my area of law that I did not know before and will use going forward

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • Timetable given by graduate recruitment was excellent. Great balance between info sessions and time with your team. Was flexible too which allowed me to miss sessions when important things were happening (ie meetings etc)

    • Great fun, very welcoming

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • Taught how to use the systems, and given an introduction to legal precents. Also used legal search engines not accessible for students. Lots of feedback time given too to help you improve on your work

    • The trainees were very open about their work and got a good feel for all the departments

    • Social events, practice presentations and periods of time within my own department meant that I got a good idea of how the firm works and how the employees operate

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • Quite a few, all really enjoyable - particularly the partner lunch

    • Good, the trainees organised lots of things for us to do which meant we had plenty of time to socialise and hear about others experiences

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?

    • Sports as well as a social committee. Additionally the CR provides activities that can be done outside of work and are good for the community

    • 100%, really good opportunity and a good length of time
