  • A really brilliant insight into the firm, the deals they work on, clients they work for and the culture.

  • I was introduced to everyone on my first day and those from all levels had time to talk to me.

  • Grad Rec offered invaluable support throughout, and the supervisors and mentors were brilliant too!

  • The skills I have gained made my prior legal knowledge relevant and greatly enhanced my commercial awareness.

  • Exceptionally well structured and a great insight into all areas of the firm.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Everyone was friendly, the other participants were really supportive and there was a real team spirit.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Lots of presentations on different practice areas which were really informative and socials too so that you could experience the culture of the firm. We had talks by trainees, conference call Q&As with overseas trainees, partner Q&As and a session with a Managing Partner, you really do get great exposure to numerous parts of the firm and learn a great amount.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It gave a really great insight into what day to day life would be working at the firm. It was great to spend time in two different departments (I did one advisory and one transactional) and this gave me great exposure to different teams, ways of working and the firm as a whole.

  • Getting to know employees from all levels of the firm really helped me to understand the company culture, it is the best way to do so.

  • It was an exceptionally valuable experience in helping me to decide on my future career path.


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were firm socials, trainees attended events in the evening, invites to play in the sports team were sent to us and we were given a mentor and a supervisor.

  • Really brilliant! Great experiences that allow you to understand what it would be like to live in the city as well as work at the firm!

  • We were invited to the sporting events throughout the placement and encouraged to attend.

  • It is in my opinion the best way to get to know the firm, culture and work.
