    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Working at Intel is a thoroughly enjoyable experience, with real responsibility in the business.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • At Intel you are treated as a normal full time employee with all staff being open, honest and there for you if you have any questions.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • You have regular time with your direct managers each week to review your progress and set relevant objectives.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • As my job role is customer focused, the busy periods will vary but each day you have set tasks which need to be completed. As an intern, if you have free time after learning your core job role there are plenty of other opportunities and projects that you can get involved in.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • At Intel you are treated as a full time employee so you are given as much responsibility as everyone else. You are responsible for feeding the latest business updates to key stakeholders and are liable for information.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have developed are invaluable and can be applied in my studies and later in my career.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The environment is open, honest and very friendly, with any person at any level in the organisation willing to spend time with you.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I think it was well set up with training organised throughout the year for the appropriate and relevant areas to the job.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There was a lot of training provided within the first few weeks as well as a 4 week handover with the previous intern.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Intel offer a graduate program but cannot guarantee you a job role until after the year has ended and they have had sufficient time to review all candidates.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The intern community has regular events going on from nights out, charity events and even weekend trips away!

  • Depending on where you choose to live, the costs in the area are cheaper compared to if you did a placement in an alternate location.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There are only a few night clubs in the area but there are a number of good bars and restaurants to keep everyone entertained.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Intel offer endless opportunities to get involved of tasks outside of your core role such as projects, volunteering and sports teams etc.
