    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed working for such a large company and found that I enjoyed working as part of a large machine and didn't really need to have acknowledgement or recognition to get job satisfaction.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Being such a big company, people only really knew their immediate workers so, although I got to know my team, I did feel at times, and I suppose the other colleagues will as well, as though I was a bit of a stranger and didn't truly fit in or feel comfortable because there were so many people I didn't know or weren't friendly with.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was left to my own vices most of the time and so didn't really recieve much gudiance or support from the management. This was definitely a negative aspect of the placement. I would have liked to have been informed by my line manager of how he felt I was progressing.

    1/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was always very busy. Every night I would get home and be tired out from the long days!

    1/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I wasn't really given much responsibility when I look back. I was always taking orders from senior people and never really progressed or even seemed to be on the verge of being given responsibility or independence to complete tasks by the management.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt a lot in terms of working in my area of study and the skills needed.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I was working with a group of interns which was fun and nice because I could talk and make friends with my fellow interns as we were roughly around the same age with same interests.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Great. Perfect. No negatives.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There seemed to be a lot of emphasis on training, especially in the intial months, where most of my day consisted of training meetings and informatives.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There is a graduate scheme that I applied for but, unfortunately, didn't get on to.

    2/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The other interns were definitely the highlight of my whole experience. I met some friends for life who were at my uni but I hadn't talked to before.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I found it very costly compared to my hometown, so I found a lot of the time I was scrimping and saving.

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I really enjoyed the centre and bars and night spots. Also London was not too far away.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I went shopping with a few of the gals, but we organised it ourselves.

    3/5
