About You
A very rewarding two weeks in a great firm.
I immediately felt valued and respected despite having no experience.
Everyone was very happy to offer advice and training if I needed it.
I learnt some crucial skills very quickly, including how to use relevant tools, that will be very useful in the future.
The Company
There were presentations on various practice areas which was very useful, as well as a couple of socials and the opportunity to become fully immersed in the work of a department.
It was hard work but good fun, I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of the firm, the friendliness of their employees and the other vacation schemers.
I was given a vast range of activities so learnt a lot.
I think I was given a good insight into the work I would be doing as a trainee.
I was fully immersed in the department's work and fully got a feel for how the firm operates.
Everything Else
I was paid adequately for the experience, but it would have been nice to have travel costs covered.
Many members of the firms attended socials and the presentations allowed us to ask questions to a range of figures in the firm.
The socials were really fun and a good opportunity to learn about the firm from the inside.
CMS places huge emphasis on pro bono work which I was really impressed by.
I would recommend it to anyone who's interested in law but cautious about the corporate culture.
