The Role
Your constantly learning new things, technical and key personal skills which is very enjoyable. Sometimes the long hours can take their toll but overall everyday is different which i loved!!
The team i work with are amazing, they are really supportive of your learning and generally appreciate you for your part in the team!I'm treated like any other manager as we're involved in most management decisions
The team i work with are so experienced and i have learnt so much from them. They involve us in everything and are always willing to answer questions we have and never laugh at the stupid ones... well occasionally. Their experience helped me learn and develop to the best of my ability.
If your not busy, there's something wrong! There's always something to do and your days are never the same.
As soon as i started i was responsible for a department, it was nerve racking and concentrated on my key skills like stock management. My department was a bestselling department at Christmas. Currently i'm covering for a menswear manager, and am responsible for the team and how well menswear is doing, i love the challenge and am learning so much so quickly!
The management skills i'm learning are transferable and the training marks and spencers provides is amazing.
The Company
Full of banter most of the time! but at peak times you can feel the pressure! I worked with lots of graduates and was really fun!
Really well organised. Marks and spencers gave us a corporate induction where we met Stuart Rose! and as soon as we arrived in store we were given a plan for our next 12 months and a training program. Marks and Spencers has lots of graduates and placement students each year.
They invest lots of time and money into giving you the best training availiable.

Kingston is a quite affluent area but so easy to commute to that its about average. The salary is quite good compared to other placements.
