    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • One of the best years of my life so far. Being with 60 other interns there is a strong student lifestyle still at the same time as working in the real world.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • At Intel you are treated just like any other member of staff and see how the work you are doing is benefiting the organisation.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Every intern has their own manager and is encouraged to meet regularly with them. I meet with mine every week for half an hour where we go over the projects in working on, its so easy to say if I'm having any problems or want more work!

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It's so easy to ask for more work/ say you've got too much because you have meetings with your managers regularly.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Intel have had interns for years which means they are used to having you around and leaving to your own devices and managing your own projects!

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Due to the fact that you are left to manage your own projects and find more work if you want to, skills are improved majorly! I have found that because of this my communication and time keeping skills have developed the most.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The team in within Intel is quite small and a young team with a number of staff that used to be interns and have been hired back.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Extremely well - once they noticed that I wanted to get involved in other types of projects they changed my manager to suit me more.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They have such a strong training schedule, and even sent 5 of us interns from my department to Turkey to do training for a week!

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Not great in this department but lots of options in other departments.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • With 60 interns there is always something to do and there is an intern committee which includes charity team, sports and social, publishing and connections.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Reasonable - about the same as uni houses but nicer.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Its not amazing, but some nights aren't that bad.. so many cities are nearby to travel to which we often do.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • They encourage volunteering and have a team of people that can get you discounts at local events etc.

    4/5
