    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The role involved a variety of tasks and responsibilities and i was always encouraged to get involved with initiatives by my line manager and colleagues. Everyday i was part of something interesting and worthwhile.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was welcomed, supported and encouraged by all of my colleagues from day one. There was always someone around to talk to and people were more than happy to help. I definitely felt like a valued member of the team.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • From day one i was given guidance and support from my line manager and my team. My line manager always made time to meet with me and find out how i was doing.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At times i was very busy, but that added to the fun of the role, i never had a chance to get bored and i was always involved in a variety of tasks.

  • Was given lots of responsibility while on placement and was given opportunities that were challenging and exciting to be a part of.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I learnt on placement help me everyday at university from time management and team work to prioritizing and facilitation.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Friendly and open. You could always walk around and go and talk to people and find out what they were up to and everyone talked and had a laugh while doing their work.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There was a programme set up for all of the interns and their line managers. The interns and the managers each had a monthly meeting with HR to give feedback on the programme and ask questions. All of the interns had a dedicated support network from day one from their team, line manager, buddy and HR representative.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company invested a huge amount of time and money in me to ensure i developed key skills such as presentation skills and facilitation.

  • Subsidised Canteen

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I am definitely drawn to working there again as i had such a good experience, but for now i am concentrating on my studies.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a good social scene amongst the placement students and the teams within the organisation. Always being invited to something.

  • The cost of living and socialising was average.

  • It was good, lots of shops, bars and clubs.

  • Lots of opportunity to get involved in activities outside of work, such as fundraising and volunteering.
