The Role
I enjoyed working with the training team and was able to work on projects across the business.
I was definately one of the team and was given responsibilty and asked my opinion on a range of areas.
My manager was brilliant. Anything that I had a problem with I could ask her for her opinion on how to deal with the situation. I was also helped with my personal development a lot.
The core job isn't that busy, it's a role which you have the opportunity to make the most out of the opportunities that present themselves to you. From becoming involved in a number of projects I was pretty busy most of the time!
I was allowed to decide what projects to become involved with. As the placement progressed the more responsibility I was given. I lead a department implementation of a new process that was required.
I have definitely benefited from completing the placement. I was given lots of opportunities to develop my skills. I do not want to work in HRD when I graduate but the skills I learnt are applicable to most business areas.
The Company
The department was very good fun but it is a business so you can't be messing around all the time. Having 30 students in the office was brilliant and made going to work much more fun!
Really organised. I had my job before Chirstmas so I was able to relax over the rest of my 2nd year. It was an application form, telephone interview and then face to face interview. It was really good as it let you apply for 3 areas of the business.
Everyone was given the opportunity to attend outlook, excel and word training.

I don't want to work in the pharaceutical industry, but it was an excellent company. You do have to return into the sales department before you can progress to head office. A few past students have done this.
The Culture
It was brilliant having 30 students in the same office! Compared to some friends at smaller placement companies, with just one or two other students. Its easy to make friends and socialise!
Rent was ok - about £260 a month. But depending on the house you find it can go up to £350.
It's not to everyone's tastes, but I really enjoyed it. It does have only one club and a few bars, but Butlers does two for one cocktails...so on to a winner!
I was part of the Janssen-Cilag Netball team and went on the three peaks challenge in the summer.
