    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • An invaluable experience. Learnt so much during my year, and met so many really friendly people (both interns and colleagues).

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Our work was important, and we could tell the people around us, both colleagues and customers, appreciated the work we completed.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Had some fantastic support throughout the year, both within my job role and my University.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Was kept very busy during the full year. Was happy to put the time and effort in to make the most of the experience.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Mainly given complete autonomy. Was amazing that I could pick something up and run with it! However, I knew I still had the support there if I required help.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The experience was invaluable. The work I completed will be linked well with the rest of my Degree. Not only has the work I completed given me some amazing skills and knowledge to take on with me, but its also things like Personal Discipline, Time Management, Organisational, Customer Orientation, Team Working and People Management skills that have truly helped me to develop.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • People worked hard, and we had a lot of work to do ourselves. We still made time for fun though!

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Has been running for a while, it was very well organised, although throughout the majority of my internship I rarely felt like an intern, but more like a Full Time employee.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had the autonomy to do as much free training as we wanted. However, there wasn't much budget to be able to do training which cost, and was more a personal development opportunity than a day-to-day job training course.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There are opportunities to return to Intel. Upon completing your placement, you will complete an online application for the Graduate Program and you can keep an eye out for any opportunities.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Sports and Social Club (SAS) organised many events including Nights Out, Pub Quizes, House Parties, BBQ's, Fancy Dress/Themed parties. Even held a Halloween party at my house!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It was Swindon, so pretty cheap to live their. Plenty of really nice places near-by, and some even commute from Bristol.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Average (it is Swindon!), but the rest of the interns made every night out well worth going!!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • As well as attending the events organised by other interns, I also played football twice a week, once with work colleagues and once with other interns. There are opportunities out there, especially for sports.

    4/5
