  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Enjoyable 10 weeks, learning a great deal and meeting a lot of nice people.

  • Majority of colleagues very welcoming.

  • A very good buddy and line manager system available to give support and advice.

  • Varied freom day to day. Some days were quite slow however most days had at least a couple of tasks to do.

  • Never copmpletely responsible for tasks set, as majority of the time checked by an analyst.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Valuable excel and powerpoint skills developed, very useful for degree studies.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Good atmosphere, in my department in particular. People willing to stop and have a chat.

  • Good structure and organisation with good opportunities to try out different parts of the bank.

  • Big investmenet with a lot of training and feedback sessions available.

  • Future employment at RBS is very appealing due to the people I have worked with and atmosphere in the office.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • A lot of great chances to socialise with other interns from across the bank, as well as graduate employees.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Not too hard to find cheap food, but everything else pretty expensive.

  • Good selection of bars and pubs.

  • Training included a community day and intern events encouraged activities outside of work.
