    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The rotaional scheme was really enjoyable and gave a lot of variety to the course and an exposure to lots of different desks. It was a pleasant experience

  • Colleagues kept professional distance and were helpful. But never like family

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Management was always forthcoming in providing assistance and support. Traders are usually very busy but they agreed to help put and solve problems whenever they could.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It was pefrect for first 7 weeks and a half. Last 2 and a half weeks I hardly had any work load

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • can not expect too much responsibility on a trading desk, but was given good projects and freedom to work on them as I wanted. there was accountability

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My degree is quite different than the work I did. But it will certainly help me in finance courses and projects I will do

  • Extremely friendly and vibrant. Very enthusiastic people

  • Mixed experience. Some aspects like rotation were very well organised. other aspects like regular feedback were bad.

  • Quite excellent training facilities provided. Good chance of personal development through multiple networking sessions

  • Would love to come back to work for them. Work environment is much better than American banks

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Really good social scene facilitated by HR initiatives

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Central London is fairly expensive. You can enjoy a lot if you are well paid

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife was vibrant. Only bad thing is none or sparse public transport at night apart from cabs and night buses

  • Not much apart from networking events and a community day
