    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I can't encourage anyone enough to do a placement over the summer at L'Oreal. The people are wonderful, the training is second to none and you will love it.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was never treated as an intern, I was treated just like the other employees and the grads. They were so appreciative of my work and encouraged me to get involved with as many projects as I wanted. Not only in the work place but also socially, I have met some friends for life here.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My managers were very supportive and encouraging. I had weekly catch ups and constant meetings to document the progress of my work. The support of HR was also great to get us to meet other interns and grads. They arranged a charity day, a picnic and lunchtime seesions to learn about different peoples roles in the company.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • No day was ever boring! I was given projects to complete over a longer time frame, as well as daily admin and assistance of the marketing teams. I had two managers which encourgaed me to manage my time effectively to split my time between brands.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • While still under the supervision of my managers, I was given my own projects to work on and given more responsibility than I would have ever expected.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The exposure I have got to marketing has been great. Not only this but L'Oreal are keen for you to understand how other functions (Digital, PR, commercial, Supply chain to name a few!) fit together with marketing. It made me look at things from multiple angles to fully understand how we must incorporate all the functions to produce sucessful marketing campaigns.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
