The Role
Hated every living moment of it.
There was no support, every one just got on with their job.
None. Absolutely terrible.
Started work 8:30am and finished sometimes 8:00pm. There is no overtime paid for between 5:30pm - 6:30pm and are expected to work the hour.
More responsibility than many of the permanent employees, some of whom finished at 4:00pm - 4:30pm
None at all. It was just all [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] clerical/admin work. I have learnt how to staple more efficiently...and the sad thing is...i'm not joking.
The Company
Dull. People would actually jump to the window if they heard a small noise for excitement...how sad is that!
There was no scheme at all, just in writing...continuous...relentless forms to fill in, so they have proof you done something there.
If I said 1p then I would be lying. The company ensured the University that they have in-house training, what this actually meant was they rather you work your butt off [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] than the company actually "waste" money on you.
As appealing as eating a dead rat for breakfast. They will offer to pay less than anyother company for a graduate and expect you to be grateful for it. Ridiculous!
The Culture
Everyone was just so tired after a days work that everyone just went home with enough energy to cook, eat, clean and sleep for the next day of trial.
I paid £600.00 a month rent...yeah...on a crap £14,000 salary. After tax and national insurance deductions, this would be around £960 a month. I could not even get a part time job because of the work hours.
I did not realise, was asleep...sound asleep. Did I mention I lived in Leytonstone? With a pub across the road and violent fights...ahhh...sound asleep.
Yeah, a christmas brunch in France. Sounds great huh?...Forgot to mention that everyone had to pay for their own ticket! I think it was like £8 and in a stuffy coach full of people you would not even want to say hello to on a dark night.
