The Role
It was tough - definitely felt like I was a full-time member of the team, with the responsibilities and workload related to a full-time position here. My placement was in a foreign office and it took me a while to feel settled, but my team could not have been more helpful and supportive throughout.
I was invited to colleagues' houses for dinner with their families, to birthday parties - they treated me like their own daughter and really took care of me!
The level of feedback is outstanding. If you are proactive about asking for guidance they are always forthcoming and really go the extra mile.
Workload is not regular - that's the nature of the division I was in; sometimes we would be swamped, other periods were more regular. But even in these periods there were other projects we could focus on!
A serious amount - I was actually quite shocked how must trust they put in me. But I really appreciated it - it forced me to focus and work hard and made me feel valued.
I honestly think I have gained more 'life skills' in this year (people skills, how to behave in a professional environment, etc) than I could ever learn at university. I feel ready to enter the professional world now and feel so much more mature than I did a year ago.
The Company
Everyone is really busy so social events are rare and not well-attended when they do happen. But the people are very friendly.
Very well-organised, mainly because all my colleagues have a very proactive, can-do attitude so were willing to train me or offer advice anytime.
Reviews were regular and very helpful, and my mentor was a great support.

Excellent company to work for. I am not totally decided if I want to continue in this role, but that is no reflection of the company itself, rather my own priorities and interests - I'm considering working in an entirely different field.
The Culture
Yes - I have become very close friends with a few of them.
I was abroad, and compared to home it was much cheaper but on a national level it was one of the most expensive areas of the country.
Excellent, when I wasn't too tired to go out!
Yes, though my hours were a little prohibitive.
