    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • I really enjoyed myself - the two-day workshop allowed more time for a range of different activities and a more in-depth look into what individual departments do rather than just an overview of what the firm is like.

    • Everyone was very friendly and took great care of us.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?

    • It depended on what activities we were doing. With some of them we had a bit more independence, like when I was given some research to do by the trainee I was shadowing and had to just work on it on my own, but that was a good experience to have.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I don't think it was especially relevant to my degree studies but it will definitely be helpful to have this experience when I am starting my career.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • It was very well organised and they had a detailed timetable for us, which was helpful.

    • It was great - there was a lot of socialising between all the students there and a very friendly atmosphere in the firm.

    • It was a large group event so there was not much individual training.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • I feel that I understand much better now what the experience of working at a large law firm is like and also what kind of work a trainee solicitor actually does.

    • The company gave a very friendly and positive impression but obviously a two-day workshop can't give you that much insight.

    • I thought the travel and accommodation reimbursement was very generous.

    • They were really good fun, all the students had a great time together.
