The Role
at first i started in a business support department and i felt the work that i did, did not provide much added value to the company or my team, then i moved to training delivery which was more dynamic and I was more integrated into an actual team where I was pushed more to do a greater range of tasks, with tangible results at the end making the job far more enjoyable.
Virtually everyone at my work are really friendly and a joy to work with
i was given as much support as i wanted.
Mostly i was kept prity busy, with a good amount of work to get into.
I was given some responsibility and it was important the work I did was done, but I was far way from running the show
My general computer skills have improved greatly and I had some job specific training, but have not received much else in the form of training to develop skills
The Company
everybody works hard in the office but always have time for a laugh and a joke, making fro a great office enviroment
i personally felt that there was little structure at the start of placement but when i change teams i had much more structure and set of specific task that i owened with goals for me to hit
there were lots of options to do training to develop skills but not alot of guidance on what would be good for you or that you may need, and it was difficult to find time for the training and was not greatly encouraged
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Above 25 days holiday
as a company career prospects are really good, but for personal reasons (family) i wasnt interested in pursuing a career with them
The Culture
among the placement students there was a fantastic social scene with things going on most weekends tho i rarely got chance to take part as my weekend were more often than not, already busy
Being from the midlands and living up north i found the cost of living a bit of a shock but it was manageable
My company was based near Southampton and Portsmouth which in my opinion are very small citys so the night life was not impressive as I am used Birmingham Liverpool and Manchester, but it depends what your used to and expectations are.
i cant really say for sure as i never really looked as i was already very busy
