    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Thoroughly enjoyable week at the firm. It was an excellent opportunity to get a great insight into the world of commercial law and meet a lot of interesting and intelligent people.

    • Everyone was extremely friendly and I really felt that everyone made an effort to engage me and to make sure that I learnt as much as possible from the week.

    • There was very good organisation throughout the entire week and employees were always on hand to offer any help or answer any questions.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The skills that I developed act as an excellent starting point to pursue a future career in commercial law. The information was invaluable in the sense that I feel I can make a much stronger application when applying to law firms in the future.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • The organisation and structure was fantastic. At no point was I unaware what was going on or what I was expected to be doing. The activities arranged were varied and very interesting.

    • Everyone at the firm were genuinely so nice and approachable. The firm came of extremely well as a place that would be excellent to work in

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • I feel as though the firm invested a huge amount of time and effort into everyone on the vacation scheme. I was very impressed with the extent to which they made an effort to get to know us all.

    • It was an invaluable opportunity as a first year law student to understand how a law firm operates and what it would be like to work there.

    • The company culture was extremely open and friendly and in spending a week there I got a very good understanding of this.

    • I now know that it definitely want to pursue commercial law.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • £150 for the week as well as all travel expenses being reimbursed

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • At all points of the day there were opportunities to network with employees with differing levels of seniority.

    • All was very good. The dinner with some partners from the firm was particularly enjoyable with excellent food!

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?

    • The activities of the employees outside of work were advertised quite well. It may have been good if I had learnt more about the sports teams within the firm and what they get up to
