    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A useful experience and a well structured scheme. As projects tend to be extremely busy, there are some issues getting support but this encourages self-sufficiency to a degree.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Accenture project teams see high turnover of staff so welcoming new people is usual and expected: there are plenty of social events and this is a good part of the company- the lost points are due to the turnover mentioned.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Management were always helpful when they had the opportunity but were generally extremely short on time. More junior employees were often more able to help.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Generally fairly light workload, largely down to cyclical nature of work- some days were much busier but I rarely had a 'perfect' amount of work

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Heavily involved with several important (if not complex) tasks such as contract drafting, invoicing etc.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I was already fairly good at Excel or else this would have been higher! It shows you what the corporate world is like, and develops networks and soft skills more than specific skills

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There were times when the project was fairly busy and morale slipped a bit but generally the atmosphere was very good: Accenture has a very young workforce in general so there is quite a lot of evening activity if you're into that kind of thing.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The scheme is established and well organised. Inividual project roles are usually well structured, although I found my second role was more ad-hoc than I would have liked.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I recieved a full week's training including several external courses plus a number of additional training sessions later on.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    Financial Bonus

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Most interns get a graduate job and it's an excellent job to get: Not sure it's what I want to do with my career but in terms of prospects alone it's excellent.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Organised social events- there are about 40-80 interns at any one time so there's plenty to do!

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is expensive, everyone knows that. If you're on an out of town project Accenture pay for everything and that is very helpful, but you'll still be paying through the nose for London.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London very good, project locations (Havant, Swindon) slim to non existent.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Charity Days are available but not regularly organised.

    3/5
