About You
Probably one of the best places to secure a vacation scheme. The work is varied, demanding, and high in quality. The people are very highly educated, diverse, and yet humble. Makes for a solid collegiate culture.
They made everyone feel empowered and valued. Contributions were thanked, even if it was basic and unchallenging work. Everyone I met made an effort to get to know me, grab a coffee, or share their personal experiences in law.
The firm pushes you to try and work things out yourself, so that you effectively learn by doing, and imparts greater responsibility if you can prove your ability.
Great skills developed in organising time, drafting efficiently, and arguing ideas coherently. These skills are necessary throughout all walks of life.
The Company
The organisers were on top of everything - although there was an unforseen circumstance that barred some events - it was beyond their control. Overall, the HR team went to great lengths to ensure we gained quality experiences, and that we would meet various members of the team.
There were plenty of social events, and the environment was both collegiate and friendly. Fantastic firm culture.
IT training was offered at the start, followed by some training in legal research, and drafting within practice groups.
They place you in an office where you sit with a senior associate or partner. Thus, you get a real feel for what the work entails.
It was seamlessly integrated with everyone at the firm. Senior employees willingly participated in getting to know us, and even took us out for lunch, drinks or coffee to better connect with us.
Everything Else
Paid £300 per week.
Open-door policy, so we can easily meet other members of the firm by swinging by their offices and saying hi. During social events, many within the firm participated - which reflects a very well integrated firm.
Dinners and lunches at very cool areas in the city - reflecting the young, relaxed culture of the firm.
