The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at UmPhafa! I got to work with some amazing people and follow the magnificent animals for 2 months straight. I would greatly recommend it!
The reserve co-ordinators helped me with my research projects by teaching me easy methods that they use on the reserve regularly. I also had amazing game keepers helping me out with my research and showing me around the reserve until I knew it well enough to venture out alone.
Out in the reserve conducting research for 5 days a week.
I was conducting my own research project with some input from the co-ordinators of the reserve. I was free to walk around the reserve alone.
I gained skills and experience that have helped me, and will carry on helping me along my career path. The research I conducted on the reserve, and the help from all the staff allowed me to gain a great mark on my university dissertation, I owe them a lot =]
The Company
No office, but the house we stayed in had great company and we all got along well.
Very well organised, easy to communicate to ensure before and after as well as during the internship ran smoothly.
It would be incredible if an opportunity to work on this reserve arose.
The Culture
All students and colleagues got along well, and socialized on the weekends and in the evenings.
