    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement and feel I have grown exponentially as a person and young professional as a result.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues were fantastic, and following a few social occassions we became very close as a group. This made me feel perfectly comfortable working so closely with them for an extended period.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My Project Supervisor was brilliant throughout. He was always available to chat to me, whether that be work related, performance related or just casually. He was a brilliant people manager.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was very busy on a daily basis usually. However, not so busy that I was pulling my hair out. As with any job there were fluctuations between up and down times - but generally there was an almost perfect balance between too busy and bored

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a substantial amount of respoonsibility which made me feel far more integrated, and more motivated to perform well. Obviously I still reported in to superiors, but I was ultimately trusted to perform my functions without supervision.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I genuinely feel like the skills I have learnt, be they technical, functional or just general life skills are invaluable. I have become a far more rounded person and feel more ready to dive into the professional world to come.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a respectable balance between fun and professionalism. There was always the opportunity for some banter, but at the same time everyone realised we had jobs to do and did them very well.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placements team were fantastic throughout, organising socials and constantly communicating with us.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were several training sessions early on, but the vast majority of training was on the job for me. I actually found this a very appealing way of being trained, and I learn best this way. However, the company didn't invest huge amounts of money in my training - just the time of the resources.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I am very excited about the potential of a job offer with accenture - I haven't got one yet, but I have taken all reasonable steps to try and secure one.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a great social scene amongst University students, placement students and work colleagues alike, all facilitated through different channels.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living was high in London - it always is. However the pay brackets tend to be higher and so makes the cost of living more bearable. I never felt that I struggled financially to any extreme extent.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London has a stunning nightlife, as does Amsterdam. Geneva is not so buzzing - however it's very nice to just go for a few drinks with colleagues after work.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were lots of opportunities offered through the company etc - however as I was abroad four days a week, I didn't get the opportunity to try as many of these as I might have done if I was in the UK.

    4/5
