    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have greatly enjoyed and valued my placement at Danone. From day one you are made to feel valued and part of the team. You are never short of exciting and interesting projects to get involved with. I've gained experience of working X-functionally within the business as well as building relationships with external agencies and the central team in Paris to ensure that our brand delivered 1st class activation's. I haven't only gained an understanding of how the marketing team functions, but have also been greatly exposed to the large sales part of the business too, which is invaluable knowledge to have also.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I have felt very valued by my colleagues. Danone's culture in general is one where you will be praised and thanked for fantastic pieces of work that you contribute to the business and everybody is appreciated.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I have had fantastic support from my line manager and wider team as well as other people within the business throughout my placement at Danone. You definitely get a real sense that your team want you to achieve the best you can, for yourself and the brand, and this is reflected in the guidance received. You will have the chance to highlight areas that you are particularly interested in or which to develop, which ensures the placement is tailored to your needs.

  • I have never been bored! I am constantly involved in interesting projects and challenged on what I can deliver - the right amount of work to keep you learning and on the go!

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As I built up trust with my manager through the work that I was producing, I have been given more responsibility. I have been given plenty of opportunity to own projects myself which is a fantastic and fast way to learn, whilst also knowing that there is a great support network there if I ever needed it.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills that I have acquired and improved during my placement have been invaluable in my next steps. Unlike other internships or placements you are fully absorbed and participating member of the team and business. From presentation skills, to agency management, you will leave with a fantastic set of examples of areas that you have gained experience and a breadth of knowledge where you have had experienced and

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It is a very friendly atmosphere - one in which people enjoy coming to work everyday! There is little hierarchy within the business and everyone is equally approachable. We are often treated to celebratory parties so that we can unwind and celebrate successes together.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It is very well organised. You have a clear role from the beginning and your development and performance are measured along the way to help you define areas which you want more experience in and to help you improve from receiving feedback. This is a placement where you are truly a needed member of the team.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Your personal training and development is really up to you to control. You will have a personal development programme which you input into on a regular basis and your line manager will do everything they can to ensure that you progress as you wish in this area.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife around Ealing isn't amazing - there are some great pubs but you would have to travel a little further into central London if you were looking for something more.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There is a great fun, young culture at Danone with plenty of people on placement or the graduate programme. We have the opportunity to get involved in sports team as well as weekly yoga and Pilates classes which are a fantastic perk!
