The Role
The people at Thales are very friendly and helpful and they give you valuable work
I was helping out my colleagues by designing test equipment that they wanted
My manager was very helpful and regularly took time out to help me
I was given several projects but felt that I could have handled more
The work I was doing was on very large projects and was important
I learnt new CAD skills, mechanical drawing and design skills and experience as well as laboratory working and experiment planning.
The Company
There is an ageing population in the office but they are working to bring in more graduates making it more fun
I had a couple of projects organised for me but could have done more and also there were inevitable issues with IT
They gave me access to CAD tools
Having done two internships with Thales now I am much more likely to get a job offer
The Culture
There are many graduates who organise pub trips, nights out etc.. We also always ate lunch together.
I study in London so it was much cheaper to live out in Somerset for me.
At the Templecombe site it is a very small village. There are a few local towns like Yeovil and Salisbury but it's hard to get around on public transport
There was a football team and some people organised hikes
