    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • Really enjoyed having a job and the atmosphere however I am not sure the role was completely right for me.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • Everyone valued my opinion on subjects and actually listened to what I had to say, I was refreshing not to be treated like a child, like you are in education.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • Support was there if I wanted it, I think this was more my failure to recognize when I needed help rather than the support not being there.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • It fluctuated depending on day to day activities and some days were very busy but I enjoy being kept busy.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility from day one but not too much to overwhelm me, I would have liked to have been pushed more as the year went on though.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I feel the skills I learnt while working are very valuable and have given me perspective on work, it has also helped me to become more focused on what I want to achieve.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Office environment was good, however I struggle to work with distractions which in an open office proved difficult at times.

    • I was treated more as a new employee with slightly less responsibility, there was no particular programme which was followed but I was not disorganized.

    • I had the opportunity to direct my own development quite well.

    • I feel I would have the opportunity to work there if I wanted to however I do not have a firm job.

    • Made some friends.

    • Too expensive to really save much money.
