    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed it very much as each day was so varied, helping me to gain so many different skills. I got really involved with the products.

  • I felt valued by my colleagues.

  • I had regular reviews as required by my university.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Most of the time I was very busy, I could arrange attachments in other areas of the business along side my normal working day. This enabled me to be busy constantly. Whenever I had free time I could work on my own project.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • At times I was given responsibility for overseeing a launch on my own. Other times I wasn't given so much responsibility.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I went on numerous courses which will be so valuable to me. The courses varied from food specific training to general development and presentation skills. The skills will help for my final year of uni and work life beyond.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was very relaxed. Everyone could chat to anyone and they were all friendly. It was open plan so easy to see everyone. Everyone would say good morning. The office was very large so had people from different teams. I was with some other placement students which made it enjoyable.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement could have been organised better with a better defined role so that I understood my role requirements more. The placement lacked some structure at times.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I went on numerous courses. I went on a range of site visits. I gained skills to help for future employment and university. The HR department organised a range of sessions.

  • If I apply in the future, the experience gained will help me. It has made me consider a career there.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were other placement students and graduates. We often had lunch together. There were opportunities to socialise outside of work.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London , very expensive. I commuted in which cost the same as living in London. There were deals for places to eat which helped.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The night life was great. Always lots going on in London. There were lots of options of where to go. It was easy to travel to lots of places on public transport.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was always something going on to get involved in. This was a plus side to the location.
