The Role
It was a very challenging placement which took me out of my comfort zone but was great to learn a lot of new things.
It was a very self-driven environment despite having a manager supervising they were particularly busy and had little contact time.
Initial instructions were given by management but from there the way I tackled an issue would be up to my perspective which was both good responsibility and a challenge.
I was extremely busy doing quite long shifts which is likely for all initial employees.
I was given a lot of responsibility, almost I felt too much for a placement student so it really developed my skill set highly.
The interpersonal and networking skills in particular will be extremely useful in future careers.
The Company
It was very dynamic, people always on the phone and extremely intense, something which I have never experienced before.
It was very dependent on which areas I would like to develop in so took some time for me to understand this culture.
There were lots of training material available and courses to help get that initial onboarding experience.
Having the placement made me gain awareness of the role and that I would like to try other options.
The Culture
As it was a placement I didn't have many other students starting at the same time, there were graduate who I was able to socialise with though.
Expensive due to London but offset from salary.
There's so much variety when you search for various events promoted so almost anything for each individual.
There were a few societies so I was able to join the football society which was great to join.
