    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The people were friendly and always willing to help if I got stuck with something; work was slow sometimes but

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was really helpful and I was kinda sad to go

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was left to do some things on my own but otherwise was helped out whenever I asked.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were slow days but I wasn't the only one with little to do when that happened. It seemed like waiting on outsource companies.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • At the end of my placement I was pretty much allowed to run the EMC lab by myself.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I'm taking a module in EMC so the work I did has been invaluable in my studies.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • 4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Moving around to get to different training sites could have been done better (a map would have been nice) but the actual working onsite went very well.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Depends on whether or not that's where I want to go. It seems I have a pretty good chance though.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Not really; then again I don't like going out to nightclubs and I lived away from the other interns because I couldn't drive so I didn't see them often.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was lucky and found a place near where I worked otherwise it would have been expensive travel. As for socialising; it was kinda the middle of nowhere for someone who can't drive.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There was a pub...that is all.

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 1/5
