  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • some work is good and has a lot of responsibility, some is dull and meanial

  • all seemed pleasantly surprised by what i am capable of and very welcoming

  • literally nothing. has not once sat down with me for an introduction or explanation of how everything will go.

  • pretty good amount

  • nothing for the degree but a lot of life skills

  • colleagues are a bit old

  • no structure, just doing whatever manager required of you. this was not necessarily a bad thing it means there is scope for a lot of different tasks.

  • as GE is so big your training cost is nothing compared to other costs so training is plentiful

  • very competitive but a lot of very good grad schemes around

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • 28 interns in total so a very social place as an intern.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • southampton is a pretty average costing city, £3 a pint most place rent about £350

  • slightly better than average
