    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Very good working environment and I feel more independent this year

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone is very friendly, especially the team I am working with. They are great support with everything I do and if I ever need to talk to someone about anything.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I have bi-weekly meetings with my manager to discuss projects that he would like me to complete and to review my progress so far. Meeting minutes are written and sent to me as a guide and if I need help my manager or anyone in my team would help.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The EHS role seems to be a busy role with a very varied day. Although it is always busy, my job role is never boring.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I have been given projects which impacts on the business and I have dealt with confidential work, so the responsibility is quite huge (eventhough my work is checked) but it feels great to be part of the team knowing that they trust what I am doing.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Working here is very different to any other job I have taken and the extent of knowledge/skills I am currently overwhelmed by is such a good opportunity. I have been given various training and my manager is hoping to enrol me onto courses so that I can gain some qualifications and make the most out of my year. With this work experience, it will hugely benefit my future job opportunities.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Colleagues are spritely and interesting to talk to. I am getting along with everyone, networking with my peers is giving me an understanding of what they are like and knowing how they managed their careers is giving me an insight to what I might like to do.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The security check was long-winded but other than that, very smooth. The intern before me was very organised and had everything set-up for me before I started so I settled in fairly quickly.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company do a lot for the interns here and I can tell that they want us to make the most out of the year. They are willing to provide us with information (if possible) and expand on our learning. They encourage us to ask for what we want to do providing that we give a reason by pitching out to the HR manager and Site Lead.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Sports and Social Club

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Above 25 days holiday

    Healthcare from home

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I have not yet had the feeling where I do not want to go to work and I have been working for 4 months now.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There are a lot of social events that some colleagues run. The company has initiatives that run individual social events. Some interns and myself organise intern trips or social events ourselves.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It seems cheap because we are salaried however getting around is less easy.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • As I am not a local in the area I am working/living in, I go out with work colleagues and so far it has been fantastic.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The social events are good however I wish there were more sport events, but luckily I am owner of an element in an initiative which is running physical activities.

    4/5
