The Role
I've really enjoyed my time so far at Janssen-Cilag - so much so that I'm staying on for a further 6 weeks!! There are occasions where the workload can seem overwhelming, but for the most part I'm kept busy but not stressed.
My colleagues are an amazing bunch!! They were all very welcoming and forgiving of the early mistakes! I have worked with a wide range of people across the building, and have felt that my presence is definitely valued.
Due to my direct manager's hectic schedule, she has not been around as much as maybe would've been good, but she's always happy for me to call her with questions and the other members of my team provide excellent support and guidance in her absence.
As mentioned previously, for the majority of my time at the company, my work has been a perfect balance - always busy but not stressfully so. However, as is the case in most jobs, there have been tasks with tight deadlines that were at bit overwhelming at times.
I feel the responsibility I have been given has been appropriate - whilst I've not been left in overall charge of anything major, I am given responsibilities of smaller projects and tasks.
Unfortunately, a lot of the skills developed are more for systems within the company (e.g. the current web platform). However, I have learnt a range of other skills during my time there, including communication and personal skills, as well as more general technical skills including improving my skills with Flash and learning how to create and produce videos.
The Company
The office is definitely a laugh when people are around. However, a lot of my department spend their time in meetings/elsewhere, so it could be a little quiet at times.
I'd say that Janssen-Cilag have nailed placements with having done them for so long!!

I'd say a job within Janssen-Cilag would be an ideal opportunity! Just a shame about the location...
The Culture
Most definitely!! Whilst we don't do something every weekend, we do spend a lot of time together outside work, and more often than not have a great time together.
Wycombe is not an overly expensive place given its location - but not as cheap as some more studenty places might be.
Wycome's nightlife is pretty terrible - it has one club which we haven't even been to out of discust!! Despite this, we have managed to have some good nights, by either there being enough of us to have a good time anywhere, or simply going elsewhere (e.g. Beaconsfield, Watford, etc).
