The Role
I found the first 4 months as a commercial manager incredibly difficult, however after that I loved the remaining 8 months!
I've made some amazing friends that were either placement students, graduates and full time employees. My opinions were really valued and I was given genuine responsibility
Most of the time the support was great, however on occasions I had to seek it out from other sources as my line manager did occasionally lack support.
For most of my placement I was working longer than the 40 hours I was paid to do however I did genuinely have a passion for my role so this wasn't too much of an issue.
I was always given full responsibility for the areas I was given and relevant tasks that contributed to running the region.
The skills gained are proving invaluable now back at university and in my everyday life.
The Company
There was a great atmosphere in most stores and with most colleagues.
The overall plan was set up well however things tend to be left to the last minute before details are shared, the business as a whole is very last minute.
I was offered so much training and one to one coaching.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Financial Bonus
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home

I have already been offered a graduate job.
The Culture
Due to the nature of the placement and how geographically spread we were this wasn't possible.
