The Role
Loved it! Didn't want to leave. The job itself was never the same day after day, and always introduced a challenge.
Like with starting any new job - there are already formed social groups. I found that everyone was really welcome and felt like family by the time I left.
I was given lots of support and guidance by my managers.
Started slow, trying to gain more knowledge of my department to understand more of the projects that were given to me
As the year went on I gained more responsibilities for example at the beginning I supported a member of the department with some training and as time went on I did training on my own. I liked the fact I was given tasks to do myself but knew that when needed there was always someone who would help me if I was struggling with it.
I gained skills in organisation by making sure tasks were done in time and requests were dealt with efficiently.
The Company
Everyone got on with each other and could have a laugh as well as being hardworking Getting their job done
Placements were pre-determined before we arrived, having listened to our interests/ thoughts and taking them into consideration. Each placement started with key objectives to achieve by the end.
We had outside training sessions every 3 months and e-learning available for other areas we felt we struggled on.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
I would heavily consider re-joining if I was offered a place.
The Culture
Weekly team drinks and meetings were organised regularly. They weren't organised too often that it felt overbearing and staff were very understanding if you had prior commitments.
I lived with with my parents, although this was expensive for other interns. It particular socialising in London is very expensive.
The nightlife in London is great, however I didn't spend a lot of time going out with my colleagues...
This could certainly be improved. HR planned loads of great activities for the interns but on a project basis more activity days could be held outside of work.
