    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the office atmosphere and everyone was helpful and pleasant to work with.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • During the internship, I gradually received more responsibilities, which made me feel valued and appreciated.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I always tried to figure out a problem by myself first, but when I needed them, my supervisor(s) were very helpful.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The responsibilities I was given were enough to fill the day and sometimes I was given extra tasks that made it more challenging. But there was never a day I had to stay late or was not able to finish tasks that should have been finished.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My responsibilities gradually increased during my placement but were never too many to handle on my own.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I did the internship after graduating because I found it difficult to find a graduate job after having recently moved to the UK. A month after the internship I started my first job, and I'm convinced the internship helped me to get it.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a time for work and also time to have an office gathering or e.g. a birthday celebration

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • As this was a relatively young and small company at the time, I felt the organisation of the internship was ad hoc. However, this made it more personal.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt there could have been more training sessions at the time, e.g. the basics of project management and procedures, but because of the immersive internship, I learnt a lot just doing the job.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Because I was not looking to move to London after the internship, I did not pursue a job in the company, but I felt there was a chance of getting a job if I had pursued it.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • 4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I commuted to London, which is very expensive.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Very nice pubs and restaurants just around the corner!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Regular pub events ;-)

    4/5
