The Role
I enjoyed the office atmosphere and everyone was helpful and pleasant to work with.
During the internship, I gradually received more responsibilities, which made me feel valued and appreciated.
I always tried to figure out a problem by myself first, but when I needed them, my supervisor(s) were very helpful.
The responsibilities I was given were enough to fill the day and sometimes I was given extra tasks that made it more challenging. But there was never a day I had to stay late or was not able to finish tasks that should have been finished.
My responsibilities gradually increased during my placement but were never too many to handle on my own.
I did the internship after graduating because I found it difficult to find a graduate job after having recently moved to the UK. A month after the internship I started my first job, and I'm convinced the internship helped me to get it.
The Company
There was a time for work and also time to have an office gathering or e.g. a birthday celebration
As this was a relatively young and small company at the time, I felt the organisation of the internship was ad hoc. However, this made it more personal.
I felt there could have been more training sessions at the time, e.g. the basics of project management and procedures, but because of the immersive internship, I learnt a lot just doing the job.
Because I was not looking to move to London after the internship, I did not pursue a job in the company, but I felt there was a chance of getting a job if I had pursued it.
The Culture
I commuted to London, which is very expensive.
Very nice pubs and restaurants just around the corner!
Regular pub events ;-)
