The Role
My line manager was very supportive and happy to offer help whenever needed.
I wasn't very busy for the first couple of weeks, but after that the work picked up and I had plenty to be getting on with.
After a few weeks, I was given the repsonsibilty of maintaining the orderbooks.
I have developed my IT skills and confidence during the internship. I feel the experience of working in an office environment will stand me in good stead in the furture.
The Company
There was a friendly atmoshpere in the office. I feel there was a good balance of working hard and chatting.
My desk, computer and user accounts were all set up for me when I arrived. My line manager had created objectives for me, which gave me an idea of what was expected from the start.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
My internship has persuaded me to apply for the graduate scheme. If I receive a high enough rating, I'll be able to skip several early stages of the application process.
The Culture
A good proportion of the interns sat together in the canteen at lunch throughout the internship. Several nights out were organised and I also met up with fellow interns who were living in my area throughout the internship.
I lived at home during the internship, but the cost of socialising is very reasonable in my area.
The Warton site is located near Blackpool and Preston, both of which have a reasonable nightlife.
The graduates who supported the internship organised several nights out before and during the internship.
