  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • I really enjoyed my placement at Delcam, would recommend it to anyone interested in software.

    • I felt quite valued by my colleagues, who were very helpful and supportive.

    • Occasionally I had too little to do just after submitting changes.

    • I was responsible for my own work, with help from my supervisor.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I greatly developed my C++ programming and software engineering skills, and have gained valuable experience in the field. Since I intend to pursue a career in this area, these skills are invaluable.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Very good atmosphere, friendly and relaxed, but not too casual.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • Very well organized. Apart from some people taking time off during training for their graduation ceremonies, everything went very smoothly throughout my placement.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • The first week and a half was dedicated to a training course in C++ programming, both general and specifically with regard to the companies software. This course was well run and really helped to improve my skills. Then throughout my placement my supervisor helped me to learn and grow my skillset.
