The Role
The role was enjoyable throughout. Naturally there were stressful periods of the job, but that is a given in any 9-5 job. The travelling aspect of the role was most enjoyable and provided a great platform for my own self development, both in the sense of career and confidence. I honestly did not want to leave the role as I felt so comfortable in the role
The working environment at adidas is very open and friendly as a whole. Within my department I can honestly say that over time I became a very valued member of the team. It was 'like a family' in the sense that we all provided one another with support where needed and I was often given lots of responsibility which in itself suggested to me that I was appreciated and valued by my manager and colleagues.
My manager was excellent at ensuring the role was adapted to suit my career development. We had one to one meetings to discuss my workload and progress and as throughout the year I was given many adhoc projects that further supported that development. With my managers support and guidance I completed a personal development plan and I am already looking to get back with the company after university.
I have left this answer very neutral because every day was different. This was perhaps the best part of the job as each week varied from one to the next. naturally there were really busy days that felt quite stressful, yet on the reverse of that, there were quieter days where you could complete admin work.
As the year development, so did the amount of responsibility that i had. I felt very independant in my working with the continued support and guidance from the team
communicational, presentational, oraganisational skills - three skill areas I already had prior to the role, but most certainly three skill areas that have vastly improved within the role. This has already been highlighted through presentations at university that i now complete with a lot more confidence and enthusiasm. The skills I developed in the role, have also already help me to secure a part time role with the company whilst still at university.
The Company
a very friendly environment where i consider my work colleagues as my friends. all departments and people throughout the company are very approachable which generates a naturally friendly and relaxed altmosphere
organised to suit the needs of my development with continual meetings and updates with management.
my manager and department manager were very supportive in light of my development and helped me to secure a part time role (one day a week) with the company during my unversity studies. For this i was helped by management and HR staff to put together a personal development plan and see what skills areas i could improve and development through the duration of the placment

already working part time whilst at university and i have also applied for a full time position after university.
The Culture
i was introduced to other students on placecment and we became good friends
i found stcokport a brilliant place to live. i didnt have a car during the position but found stockport a convenient location/distance to work as i biked in every day. there is great public transport and manchester is only a 10min train journey away! nightlife in stockport is limited with local pubs, though Hazel Grove does have a nightclub that is along the main bus route. though with manchester 10mins away - there was no need for anything closer to home. i found the cost of living brilliant as i shared a house with over young professionals that had bills all inclusive
leisure centre, shopping centre, cinema, local parks, pubs etc - all within stockport but even greater opportunites in manchester too!
