Operations Analyst Review

The work was tough and at times I was under a considerable amount of pressure but that was counteracted by a sense of fulfillment and achievement on a daily basis. Overall it was a very worthwhile experience.

My colleagues were one of the best aspects about my internship, right from the onset they went out of their way to make me feel welcome and become a contributing member of the team.

My manager was always on hand to answer any of my questions, no matter how busy she seemed to be. There was consistent intern communiction from the programme management throughout and weekly one-to-one catch up sessions to review my progress and give feedback on my performance to date.

I found the nature of the work very volatile. Some days I found I had too much time on my hands while at other times I felt swamped. There were deadlines to meet and many jobs to be done at once. Some days were a lot more chaotic than others but in the end, I suppose that is the nature of the job.

I was given a lot of responsability, I was expected to take ownership for and complete the tasks assigned to me. From the very beginning was thrown into the deep end and was taught to be accountable for my tasks. At the same time I was very aware that I was still the intern and any work I completed was thoroughly checked and reviewed before being sent to a client.

This was perhaps the most important part of the internship. I can honestly say that the skills I have learned over the past 11 weeks will stand to me in my future career. I got a genuine insight into what it would be like to have a career in financial services and I am confident many of the lessons, from both my successes and failures will greatly assist in my degree studies and beyond.

There was a good atmosphere in my office, everyone was very happy to engage with others and have a laugh, all the while making sure to get the work done. A fair summary 'fun but professional'

I really couldn't ask for more. The CDP team went out of their way to ensure everything was ready for my arrival at the firm. The did all the leg work from contacting my managers, welcoming us to the firm and managing our expectations from the start. They were in regular communication with us and set up many enjoyable events for us to attend.

We were given every opportunity for further training and development and no resource was spared to ensure we were confident and competent in our day-to-day tasks

I have not yet been told whether I have been successful in obtaining a job here at JPM but i am very confident that, were an offer to present itself I would accept it.

Yes, there was a good social scene amongst my fellow interns. Everyone got on very well and there were numerous events that we were invited to attend.

As with any major city the cost of living was reletively high but not excessive given the salary that we recieved.

Very good, there is no shortage of bars/nightclubs around here!

JPM has many clubs and groups that you can join outside of work. I did not, however, partake in any.
