The Role
Very enjoyable 12 months with the team and valuable working experience gained. Very keen to come back post graduation
The team are often dependent on the contributions of the student placement and you have a resposibility both individually and collectively to contribute the the departmenst sales targets
The management were very supportive and keen to allow me to influcence the areas/tasks i worked on in the year. The HR team are also very helpfull in planning a possible route back into the business once you have graduated (if applicable)
Quarterly sell-in periods provide the year with a clear structure. Certain periods of the year can be especially busy but there are always tasks to be completed. The management were very supportive and keen for me to continue my sports activities outside of work and they always tried to accomodate any fixtures within reason
Responsibility is immediately given by the management and you are actively encouraged to seek further responsibility.
The training i recieved has prepared me very well for a career in sales and the placment year gave me plenty of examples and experiences that i could refer to during the remainder of my degree study
The Company
Brilliant office to work in. Where the competitive side of a sports company can really be seen! Never a dull moment.
Very well structured 12 months but with flexibility to meet my personal needs. i.e. i spent time with the Field Sales team as i had identified this as an area where i would like to gain some experience.
With the rest of the field and direct services team i participated in externally ran professional training courses, focusing on presentation skills. The company are particularly helpful in tailoring training to your needs through their variety of programmes.

I came back to the Direct Services sales team once I had graduated and i would happily stay within the company for the rest of my career. There are also a number of graduate intern placments options I could have followed.
The Culture
adidas doesn't take on a large number fo students but there is a good social scene around Manchester and the company puts on some pretty good nights out.
As with most cities, Manchester has its expensive and cheaper placed to live in, its just depends what area you pick. I lived in Didsbury which is about a 20 min drive into work and fairly close to town for £350 a month (inc bills) although this can vary.
Manchester has pretty much everything you could need/want and is only a short distance from Stockport
adidas has various groups/clubs as does the surrounding area. Most tastes could be catered for
