  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Had a trainee 'buddy' plus an Associate as 'supervisor', in whose office I sat. Both were really helpful and open to questions. Support from other areas of the firm (eg library services and secretaries) was also widely available.

  • Good presentation skills and group negotiation workshops.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Perfectly structured. Really well organised team presentations, Q&A sessions and networking events. Grad Rec were around really often to answer questions and make sue everything went seamlessly.

  • Really personable: the trainees and Grad Rec were particularly good at putting us at ease. There was no sense of competition or nastiness between students.

  • Presentation skills workshop as well as a fun group negotiation exercise. Both were good opportunities to pick up new skills and get feedback on your performance.

  • Really well. I had a really lovely trainee buddy who kept me well informed as to her day's work.

  • Yes. Daily sector team presentations and frequent Q&A sessions with people of all seniorities.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Super fun! First week was cocktail making classes in Shoreditch and second week was a lovely steak meal in Smithfields. Trainees were super sociable too, and invited us for coffee/drinks a few times.

  • Good pro bono presentation and people were always willing to talk about their hobbies.

  • Absolutely: a really welcoming atmosphere and superb organisation meant it was a really varied, fun two weeks.
