The Role
Really valuable experience - would highly recommend it for anyone thinking of going into banking or looking to find out more about the industry
Everyone was welcoming and I received credit for work well done
Generally supportive and forthcoming with guidance when asked
Mostly quite busy, although there were a few quiet days as was typical for the summer
Reasonable amount of responsibility
The learning curve can be quite steep at the beginning, but I felt like I had gained a lot by the end of the internship
The Company
Pleasant, although there was some stress as was to be expected
Very well organised
Intensive one-week training covering all the basics
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Received an offer! Rothschild would be a great place to work - the training is excellent, and although you have to be realisitic about the working hours the lifestyle is probably better than at other places in the industry
The Culture
Everyone was quite sociable although often too busy to properly socialise
Expensive, as it was in the City
Tends to be quiet at night and on weekends
A few social events
