    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a very good experience. 10 weeks really gives you time to become a part of the team.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was always incredibly helpful and willing to spend time explaining things to me. They were kind and understanding, couldn't have asked for better colleagues!

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given support by the team, not specifically by the managers only.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days were perfect, but others I felt like there was barely nothing for me to do.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I believe I was given a good amount of responsibility as I was covering for a woman who went on holiday and took on her daily work.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think this was a very valuable experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to do something productive with their summer! Santander is a great bank and the people you will meet will open a lot of doors for your future.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone was professional but also knew how to have fun and be laid back when needed. There were some days where it was more stressful but overall it was very relaxed and positive.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was well organised and I had the opportunity to shadow different departments and visit various offices. However, I felt that some days there was not much for me to do.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They invested in the sense of giving me on the job training and spending time explaining things to me. Santander also opened doors for me to work alongside Santander Universities and subsidised my internship

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Healthcare/Dental

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • They can't guarantee a graduate placement but will try their hardest to offer most interns one. It is a good prospective employer for the future.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The interns were all great, we all got along really well.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • A little bit expensive but the wage whilst working more than covered it.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Wasn't the best place for nightlife.

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was a Sports Day and evening Netball, Football, Cricket etc matches.
