The Role
I had an amazing time on my placement year - the experience will bve very hard to beat.
I had a fantastic team who were extremely welcoming and supportive.
I was given regular support and guidance from my direct managers, as well as other members of my team whenever I seeked help.
The work load varied quite a lot, so some weeks would be absolutely manic and others would be a lot calmer, but on the whole it was manageable, but definitely much closer to the busy end of the spectrum.
I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement. I really was an integral part of the team with my own jobs and responsibilities. I was trusted to use my initiative and get on with things.
All the skills I employed on a day to day basis will be extremely useful at university and beyond. My writing skills have progressed immensely and my ability to juggle work loads and work under pressure will be essential in any future role.
The Company
The general atmosphere was always very welcoming, though still fairly professional. Again it could vary quite a lot depending on projects and work loads. However, at Christmas there was an amazing buzz in the office and a real sense of community.
My role was very well organised as I was the sixth intern that they had trained in my department. However, in October we hired a second intern and so establishing the division between our roles took some getting used to, but after a few months everything worked perfectly.
Investing in training the interns appeared to be a top priority at Warner Bros. We were provided with regular training sessions on a variety of topics including professional skills, perfecting presentation techniques and learning to understand other peoples attitudes in the work place. As well as mandatory training, there were also plenty of opportunities to attend optional workshops and talks.

Whilst Warner Bros. does not have the head-count to guarantee interns a job at the end of their degree, I have been told that my team are keen to have me back, should an opening become available.
The Culture
Normally the social scene is very good between the interns, however this year quite a few people commuted from their family home, so I think this had an effect on how many people were able to go out.
Expensive! Living in London really isn't cheap and the cost of my rent really ate into my disposable income.
Great - if you could afford to go out!
There is always something going on in London and normally someone game in the office.
