    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Enjoyment factor really came from the people. They are people who I want to work and achieve great things with.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • 5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Unlike other internships, I felt like I was treated seriously by my superiors.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Very busy but why not spend the time to get the most out of the short time during an internship?

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility regarding specific projects. Nevertheless, there is a lot of value out of getting feedback from others and to receive review points on your work so that you can improve.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • At the start of my internship I was very progress-oriented. My mindset was to do things quickly to a high standard. However, I have matured a great deal since then. I now possess a risk-oriented mindset that allows me to understand how the tasks that I perform fit into the big picture.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The people were the friendliest and the most capable I have worked with. I couldn't have asked for more.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The objectives for my internship were laid out clearly at the start but J.P. Morgan had the flexibility to allow me to tackle tasks that I wanted to get exposure to on top of those objectives so that I would get the most out of my experience.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was treated like a member of the team from day one and I was given core training both formally and informally all the way to the very last day.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • J.P. Morgan is the place to be. Enough said.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were many opportunities to mingle and meet new people along my J.P. Morgan journey. The best thing was that the social scene was not fabricated at all by HR during the events. HR made sure that the social scene would be fantastic by selecting the right people to be on the program way before any of us ever met.

  • Canary Wharf is amazing at night. It dons a completely new character.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were many opportunities for us to get involved from sports to community awareness events.
