    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • predominantly due to the people i worked with on a day to day basis

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very useful especially in busy times when I could handle some tasks that could be offloaded to me.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • mostly from the analysts, very little from my line manager as they were just too busy - which is fine in my opinion

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Work is always varying day to day, but the variation is useful as it gives you the opportunity to work hard and do background work

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I wasn't expecting to receive any, so I was pleasantly surprised when some of my work wasn't checked.

    1/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Extremely useful for the job - but not for my degree

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • When I was sat near my team it was brilliant, on the few occasions I had to sit elsewhere it was a little drab.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Co-ordinated strongly through HR - could have done with more department specific training at the start.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt as if all interns should get access to Bloomberg like many other banks. I don't think the meetings with Managers were detailed and serious enough given they were some of the few opportunities we had to focus on personal development.

    2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised/Company Gym

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Despite the low theoretical probability, I am confident I have done enough to secure a graduate offer, which I'll be keen to take up after completing my degree.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • It's difficult to organise events when many departments are working very different hours. However the events that did run were very successful.

    2/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London will always be expensive, that doesn't make the value for money bad.

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • never really got to experience it. Nor was it why I am here.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Many opportunities, few that practically work around working hours.

    5/5
