    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • Placed in a division not suitable to my talents so never felt challenged or fully utilised. Felt more like I was a PA.

    • Very friendly, although was never actively invited to engage with them.

    • Always on the phone if I needed.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • Some days I would sit reading the news with absolutely nothing. Other days I would be pretty busy, although my deadlines were rather flexible I often challenged myself to be as efficiant as possible to make up for the boredom I would feel prior to the work.

    • Too many double checking of my work felt like I was never trusted.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The Excel skills have greatly improved, although I have developed little else other than my knowledge of a working environment

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Occasionally uncomfortable with certain colleagues. But the overall feel was friendly abd approachable.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • No line manager on site or a team to speak of, which was perhaps a bad choice for someone on their first placement. However the time management, events and calls during the placement and the location was all spot on. However the planning and development of myself and others often felt like an aftermath. Once we were in what we would actually do we weren't too sure.

    • No training, I had to Google everything.

    • I could quite possible keep working with them, however whether I want to or not depends.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • Living together was fantastic. Well placed, good location and all put in flats with the perfect people. Good planning.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • I am from the North, so London is just expensive to me anyway. We found a few decent places though were we lived that were cheap as chips. Although chips are't really that cheap anymore; I think its a couple of quid for a big bag now which is such a shame. Although I weas never really a fan of the chippy.

    • Probably out too often. Its London Baby.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

    • Not massively. Charity Challenge and events that were all organised by ourselves, not the Group.
