The Role
I really enjoyed my placement, was given interesting work to do that was also helpful in learning about insurance and the team that I worked with do.
They gave me work that I knew was important to them, because they trusted that I would be able to do it.
My manager always asked if I was alright and checked up on me. I knew that whenever I needed help, I could ask him, or anyone in the team.
I was never too busy, and never bored. The few times that I didn't have much to do, I asked my manager for some work and he gave me things that needed doing. I was given a few big projects during my placement, so I always had stuff to do, but was never stressed out either.
I was given enough responsibility to feel needed in the team, and to get a good insight into working for Allianz. However, it was never too much that I felt stressed out or worried.
I learnt how to use Excel and Access properly, as well as programmes specific to Allianz. I really think that these will help me in the future. I also developed presentation skills, which will definitely be helpful.
The Company
There was enough of an atmosphere for the office to not feel dull, but not too loud to interrupt with work.
My manager had already thought of the big porjects that I would do throughout my placement before I started, so I knew what I was planning to do in the 9 weeks when I started on my first day.
I was given the opportunity to take an exam that will be useful if I would like to have a career in Insurance in the future.
